About the Role
As a Software Engineer on Growth, you'll work directly with our growth teams to build high-impact tools and systems that accelerate our expansion. You'll own critical technical infrastructure while maintaining a strong focus on business metrics and customer experience. This role combines technical expertise with a strong customer mindset to create scalable solutions that optimize user acquisition, retention, and overall company growth.
What You'll Do:
Build the acquisition engine that will help Base deploy batteries—e.g. signup flows, home qualification databases, power outage tracking, and bill comparison tools.
Collaborate with the growth team to ideate, build, and execute growth experiments and campaigns.
Optimize the member onboarding experience across touch points to improve satisfaction.
Lead architecture decisions to deliver high-quality user experiences.
Own our customer data infrastructure to enable data-driven decisions across the organization.
What You'll Bring:
Demonstrated ability to deliver features end-to-end, from ideation to deployment.
Strong full-stack capabilities - you can architect systems, write clean code, and can flex between front-end and back-end.
Customer-centric thinking and the ability to translate user needs into actionable solutions.
Ability to balance speed and quality - you know when to move fast and when to build for scale.
Experience with data pipelines and analytics infrastructure to measure impact.
Grit, creativity, and a first-principles approach to solving problems.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in growth engineering or working closely with growth teams at a startup.
Familiarity with modern data/analytics tools (e.g. dbt, CDPs, BI platforms).
Knowledge of SEO principles, marketing automation, growth marketing, and conversion rate optimization techniques.
Interest in energy markets and enthusiasm for Base's mission to fix the grid.
