Role Overview

Position: Design Lead

Location: Bengaluru

Team: Design

-Lead and facilitate collaborative design discussions and strategy sessions with cross-functional teams

-Navigate complex, fast-paced projects and align design efforts with product and engineering priorities

-Run design discovery workshops to surface opportunities, pain points, and innovative solutions

-Execute on design vision while clarifying ambiguity through proactive questioning and problem framing

-Communicate design rationale clearly to stakeholders of all technical and non-technical backgrounds

-Expert in tools like Figma, Miro, Notion, Maze, Jira — and quick to adapt to new workflows

-Experience building and contributing to scalable design systems

-Sharp visual design instincts with a strong grasp of accessibility, consistency, and micro-interactions

-Working knowledge of user research and usability testing techniques

-Strong grasp of UX fundamentals: information architecture, user flows, wireframing, and prototyping

-Comfortable working with distributed and cross-functional teams across time zones.

Within 60 Days, You’ll:

-Get immersed in Bolt.Earth's product ecosystem — from EV charging platforms to IoT interfaces

-Understand our mission, user base, and unique design challenges in the mobility tech space

-Collaborate with PMs and Engineers to scope, prioritize, and define upcoming feature work

-Start mapping and refining personas for different product verticals (B2B, fleet, consumer, OEM, etc.)

-Host early design ideation sessions and kickoff discovery work on in-flight initiatives

-Deliver high-fidelity designs backed by internal research, user flows, and interaction patterns

-Complete an audit of your product area, suggesting UX/UI enhancements or workflow improvements

-Onboard to Bolt.Earth’s evolving design system and suggest improvements

Within 180 Days, You’ll:

-Conduct user interviews and usability studies to validate assumptions and improve UX.

-Build strong partnerships with your product and engineering counterparts

-Own end-to-end design for a key feature or product vertical — from discovery to post-launch iteration

-Help shape Bolt.Earth’s design practice — process, feedback culture, design reviews, etc.

-Mentor junior designers or interns and guide cross-functional teams through design thinking

-Contribute significantly to our shared design system and establish scalable component guidelines

-Help define success metrics for UX in collaboration with PMs and analysts

-Start to influence how design decisions support business strategy, customer satisfaction, and usability

Within 365 Days, You’ll:

-Become a design leader in your product area and a customer advocate in every roadmap conversation

-Drive design quality and consistency across multiple teams and feature sets

Lead cross-product initiatives that simplify and unify user experiences across Bolt.Earth’s platform

-Influence the strategic direction of the product by contributing research-backed insights

-Push for innovation in mobility tech UX — incorporating trends, tech, and customer feedback loops

-Establish documentation and onboarding materials for design best practices and patterns

-Shape Bolt.Earth’s design culture — from hiring, to rituals, to product thinking

-Support the application of emerging technologies (AI, ML, AR/VR, spatial UX) into future experiences
