It’s time to turn carbon emissions reduction into a business imperative. Clarasight provides global enterprises with a Carbon Planning & Intelligence platform to power emissions reduction. Some of the world's most recognizable companies, representing over $4T in market value, rely on Clarasight's software to reduce risks, save costs, protect revenues, and manage emissions aligned with business objectives and sustainability goals.

We are seeking an experienced Operations Lead and Chief of Staff to partner directly with our Founders and leadership team. This is a high impact role for someone with deep SaaS experience, strong financial expertise, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence in a fast paced environment.

About the Role

We’re at an inflection point—doubling headcount and tripling ARR. You will serve as both a strategic partner to our Founders and the operational engine that scales our distributed organization. You’ll wear two hats: driving clarity, alignment, and high-impact initiatives as Chief of Staff, while building the systems, financial discipline, people operations, and AI-augmented infrastructure that let us grow efficiently and intelligently.

What You Will Do

Chief of Staff Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly and annual strategic planning; align leadership around priorities and ensure execution follow-through.

  • Own leadership cadences: run executive meetings, OKR reviews, risk/radar syncs, and decision forums.

  • Enable the Founders by anticipating needs, clearing blockers, and spearheading high-priority special projects.

  • Translate strategy into actionable plans and internal communications, leveraging data and AI-enabled insights to keep the organization moving in lockstep.

Head of Operations Responsibilities

  • Drive financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and growth metric tracking—augmenting traditional models with AI-enhanced predictive analytics and anomaly detection.

  • Prepare board decks, investor updates, and performance storytelling; serve as a primary liaison for investor communications.

  • Scale global people operations: design and operate payroll, benefits, onboarding, and compliance across geographies with intelligent automation to reduce friction and manual overhead.

  • Build and optimize core operational systems and tooling (e.g., RAMP, Justworks, Remote, Slack, planning/OKR platforms), embedding AI to improve visibility, prioritization, and execution velocity.

  • Lead the identification and integration of AI across operations—designing workflows that use AI for decision support, task automation, forecasting, and continuous process improvement while ensuring responsible use and data quality.

  • Define, monitor, and improve key operational metrics that reflect health across planning, execution, team experience, and AI leverage/adoption.

Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years in high-growth startups or scaling organizations with both strategic and operational ownership.

  • Basic financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and investor reporting, ideally enhanced with data/AI-driven insight.

  • Proven track record scaling distributed/global teams (payroll, benefits, compliance).

  • Deep comfort with planning frameworks (OKRs), operating rhythms, and cross-functional alignment.

  • Systems thinker who can build and evolve scalable processes and tooling.

  • Hands-on or closely collaborative experience integrating AI/LLMs into operations—identifying use cases, evaluating tools, defining guardrails, and operationalizing outputs.

  • Excellent communicator; capable of influencing across functions without formal authority.

Tools & Platforms

  • Experience with RAMP, Justworks, Remote or equivalent global people platforms.

  • Familiarity with collaboration and execution tools (Slack, Notion/Google Workspace, calendar systems, execution trackers).

  • Exposure to or comfort with AI tooling (e.g., using LLMs for workflow automation, forecasting augmentation, internal copilots, prompt engineering fundamentals, or partnering with technical teams to deploy/customize AI).

  • Ability to synthesize data into clear narratives for leadership and investors.

Mindset and Attributes

  • Action-oriented problem solver who anticipates issues and removes obstacles.

  • Execution-driven leader who inspires delivery and ownership.

  • High emotional intelligence; builds trust quickly across levels.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change; prioritizes ruthlessly.

  • Relentless about continuous improvement, especially by leveraging AI/automation, without losing sight of delivery.

  • Collaborative “operator” mentality—ready to roll up sleeves and simultaneously elevate strategic thinking.

Sample Projects You’ll Lead

  • Design and run the company’s scaling operating cadence (planning, reviews, leadership alignment), augmented with AI dashboards and decision support.

  • Build a global people ops framework that supports new country expansion with seamless onboarding, compliance, and intelligent automation to reduce manual work.

  • Own quarterly investor and board communications, including AI-enhanced dashboard creation and narrative development that surfaces trends and risks early.

  • Develop a remote culture and in-person collaboration strategy that balances cohesion with cost discipline—using AI to surface engagement signals and optimize touchpoints.

  • Embed sustainability reporting (SBTi, CDP, EcoVadis) into operational planning and progress tracking with automated data pipelines and validation.

  • Identify and operationalize high-leverage AI use cases across finance, planning, people ops, and special projects—designing internal “AI playbooks” and governance for their safe, effective use.

Why This Matters

You’ll be the connective tissue between vision and execution, helping the company triple in scale while preserving clarity, culture, and velocity—and building the AI-native infrastructure that turns scale into sustained leverage.
