Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We’re crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI — without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability.

Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that’s setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure.

About This Role:

The Receiving Quality Lead is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Mechanical and Electrical Receiving Inspection teams. This role is vital for ensuring all incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies used in switchboard manufacturing comply with company standards, engineering specifications, and regulatory requirements. You will provide technical guidance, resolve quality issues, drive supplier quality improvements, and act as a key liaison between Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality. Your leadership directly ensures proper documentation, traceability, and product integrity from the moment materials enter the facility. This is a full-time position.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Team Leadership & Oversight: Supervise, mentor, and provide direction to the Mechanical and Electrical Receiving Inspectors. Plan, organize, and assign daily inspection workload based on production priorities and material receipt schedules. Conduct technical training on inspection procedures, tools, and safety practices.

  • Calibration Program Management: Manage the site's calibration program for all inspection tools (mechanical and electrical), ensuring all gauges and instruments are current and in compliance.

  • Receiving Inspection & Technical Escalation: Oversee inspection activities for all incoming mechanical and electrical components (e.g., sheet metal, breakers, busbars, wiring harnesses, etc.). Serve as the first point of escalation for inspectors, providing clear "accept/reject" decisions on complex non-conformances.

  • Documentation & Compliance Review: Review supplier documentation (Certificates of Compliance, test reports) to verify product certifications and ratings. Ensure accurate entry of inspection data in ERP/QMS systems.

  • Non-Conformance Management (MRB): Ensure nonconforming materials are immediately identified, documented, quarantined, and dispositioned properly, coordinating the Material Review Board (MRB) process at the receiving stage.

  • Supplier Quality & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to address supplier-related issues and drive improvements. Lead or support Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective/Preventive Action (CAPA), and Supplier Corrective Action (SCAR) activities.

  • In-Process Support & Liaison: Provide guidance to production teams on mechanical and electrical quality requirements. You will support in-process and final inspection teams to maintain production flow and assist with complex troubleshooting tasks requiring higher-level judgment.

  • Reporting & Audit Support: Track and analyze incoming quality data. Prepare and present simple monthly reports to the Quality Manager on supplier performance and defect trends. You will assist the Quality Manager with ISO 9001 internal audits and maintain quality records for the receiving department.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Experience & Leadership: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing environment (e.g., metal fabrication, electrical assembly, or similar), including 2+ years in a lead, senior, or mentorship role.

  • Technical Interpretation: Expert ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Bills of Material (BOMs).

  • Equipment Proficiency: Proficiency with precision measurement and testing instruments.

  • Systems Experience: Experience using ERP / QMS systems for data entry and tracking.

  • Core Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Proven root cause analysis capability and the ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Technical Focus (Highly Preferred): Experience with switchboards, panelboards, control panels, power distribution, or fabrication.

Bonus Points

  • Associate's Degree or Technical Certificate in Engineering Technology (Mechanical or Electrical).

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Technician (CQT).

  • Direct experience with switchboard, switchgear, or control panel manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with UL 891, UL 508A, NEC, NEMA, and ISO 9001 requirements.

  • In-depth knowledge of UL 508A (control panels) and/or UL 891 (switchboards).
