Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.
We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.
We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.
If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.
About the role:
As a Data Center Facility Operations Intern (Standards & Procedures Focus), you will
develop, audit, and refine the technical documentation that governs our Mechanical and
Electrical (MEP) infrastructure. You will work with senior engineers to translate complex
system sequences into actionable Methods of Procedure (MOPs), ensuring that
maintenance on high-stakes systems like UPS and Chillers is performed safely and with
zero downtime.

Electrical (MEP) infrastructure. You will work with senior engineers to translate complex
system sequences into actionable Methods of Procedure (MOPs), ensuring that
maintenance on high-stakes systems like UPS and Chillers is performed safely and with
zero downtime.
What You’ll be Working on:
- Technical Procedure Development: Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for routine inspections and Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for high-risk maintenance activities.
- Emergency Response Planning: Assist in creating and refining Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) for rapid recovery during power failures, cooling loss, or fire alarms.
- Field Auditing & Feedback: Accompany technicians during live maintenance to verify that written procedures match real-world conditions and identify "human factor" risks in existing documentation.
- Standardization & Compliance: Ensure all procedures align with ASHRAE thermal guidelines and OSHA safety standards, maintaining a "Single Source of Truth" across the facility.
- Digital Transformation: Support the migration of paper-based logs Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or digital DCIM platforms.
- Infrastructure Telemetry: Assist in monitoring real-time data from Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools and Building Management Systems (BMS to identify anomalies in power consumption or cooling cycles.
- Capacity & Load Analysis: Use Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to track branch circuit loading and cabinet power densities, ensuring the facility remains within safe operating limits.
- Efficiency Metrics (PUE): Collect and analyze data to calculate Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE), identifying trends that suggest equipment inefficiency or the need for maintenance.
- Predictive Maintenance Reporting: Support the engineering team by correlating maintenance logs from the CMMS with equipment performance data to help transition from reactive to predictive maintenance schedules.
- Standard Optimization: Use data-driven insights to update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)—for example, adjusting cooling setpoints based on real-time heat map analysis to align with ASHRAE Thermal Guidelines.
- Data Visualization: Experience creating dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or Google Looker Studio.
- Mathematical Modeling: Ability to perform basic heat-load calculations or electrical load-balancing simulations.
- Database Familiarity: Basic understanding of SQL or how data is pulled from industrial sensors (PI System, Modbus, or BACnet)
- Education: Pursuing a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Technical Communications with a strong engineering background that is graduating between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Prefer post graduate candidates.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and complex system sequences.
- Writing Proficiency: Strong command of the 4 C's of technical writing—Conciseness, Correctness, Clarity, and Consistency.
- Detail Orientation: Exceptional attention to detail; ability to spot inconsistencies in technical steps that could lead to equipment damage or outages.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Bluebeam for documenting site "as-builts."
- Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies to improve future procedures.
- Understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and arc-flash safety procedures.
- Compensation will be $1,445/per week and a one-time housing stipend
- Access to HealthiestYou and Calm
- Paid Holiday and Volunteer Days
- Commuter Allowance
