We are seeking a skilled DevOps and Release Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines, managing releases, and ensuring smooth deployment of applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has strong experience in automation, cloud platforms, and release management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and work alongside a cross-functional engineering team on the latest technologies to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
- Deploy and maintain critical applications on cloud-native serverless architectures
- Improve the build system, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tools
- Proactively identify needs for internal automation, tools, and infrastructure and deliver user friendly, reliable solutions
- Advocate for DevOps best practices, continuous improvement, and team-wide adoption.
- Release Management :Automate build, release, and test pipelines for firmware, internal tool, cloud infrastructure, and QA codebases
- Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to schedule and execute releases smoothly
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field
- At least 3-5 years experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
- Strong programming skills in a modern language, like Python and Java
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Experience with infrastructure automation technologies, like Docker and AWS CloudFormation/CDK
- Experience managing a multi-account AWS Organization and leveraging SSO, IAM, and networking (VPC)
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana,Datadog)
- Savviness in leveraging off the shelf services, libraries, and APIs to build custom in-house solutions
- Experience building and maintaining release and testing automation
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservices architecture and service mesh technologies
- Knowledge of security best practices for CI/CD and cloud environments
- Experience with SQL queries, data analysis, and dashboards
- Experience with services for IoT devices (experience with AWS IoT specifically is great, but not required)
- Experience with event driven architectures and serverless technologies.
- Real world experience scaling and optimizing services
- Experience with infrastructure management tools like Terraform or Pulumi
- Knowledge of Apple App Store and Google Play Store release processes
- Experience with Fastlane or other mobile app release automation tools
The estimated base salary range for this position is $175k to $200k, which does not include the value of benefits or a potential equity grant. A wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, market conditions, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and business and organizational needs.
