FUNCTION

The Accountant will support Standard Nuclear’s core accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, timely close processes, and compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role will contribute to general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting in support of a growing manufacturing organization.
This position is intended for a CPA with strong technical fundamentals who is comfortable operating in a hands-on environment and collaborating across finance and operations teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Ledger & Close
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Maintain accurate and well-documented general ledger records.
- Assist with variance analysis and financial review activities.
Transaction & Operational Accounting
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense processing as needed.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting and benefit accruals.
- Work with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and transaction flow.
Reconciliations & Controls
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve issues in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Support internal controls, documentation, and accounting policy compliance.
Audit & Compliance Support
- Assist with external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support auditor inquiries.
- Ensure accounting practices align with Company policies and professional standards.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Support improvements to accounting processes, workflows, and controls.
- Assist with ERP or accounting system enhancements as the finance function scales.
- Contribute to documentation of procedures and best practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Active CPA license required.
- 3–6 years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems (NetSuite or similar preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with detailed financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Manufacturing, industrial, or regulated-industry experience is a plus.
