The IT Systems Administrator will support Standard Nuclear’s internal technology systems and user environments across office, engineering, and operational teams. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable and secure IT infrastructure, supporting employees with day-to-day technical needs, and coordinating with vendors and service providers as the company scales.

This is a hands-on role focused on system administration, device management, and technical support. The IT Systems Administrator will ensure that employees have reliable access to the systems and tools they need while maintaining strong security and operational discipline.

The ideal candidate is practical, organized, and comfortable supporting a fast-moving engineering and manufacturing organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Infrastructure & Systems Support

  • Administer and maintain company IT systems including identity management, device management, and productivity platforms.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Maintain and support cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools.
  • Monitor system health, uptime, and performance.

User Support & Technical Troubleshooting

  • Provide day-to-day IT support for employees across office and operational environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and system issues.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities including account setup, system access, and device deployment.

Device & Endpoint Management

  • Manage company laptops, workstations, and mobile devices.
  • Configure and deploy new equipment and maintain lifecycle tracking of hardware assets.
  • Maintain patching, software updates, and endpoint security policies.

Security & Compliance Support

  • Support implementation of IT security practices including access management, device security, and system monitoring.
  • Assist with cybersecurity awareness and basic security controls.
  • Coordinate with vendors or external providers to resolve security or infrastructure issues.

Vendor & System Coordination

  • Work with external IT providers and software vendors to support system maintenance and improvements.
  • Assist with implementation of new tools or internal systems as needed.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and IT procedures.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience in IT systems administration, technical support, or IT operations.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, identity management, and collaboration platforms.
  • Familiarity with device management tools and endpoint security practices.
  • Basic understanding of networking, system troubleshooting, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
