About the role:

The Nuclear Company is a leading innovator in the nuclear energy sector, committed to providing safe, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of engineers and contribute to the successful execution of our nuclear projects. The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and directing the activities of an engineering team, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of engineering tasks in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company procedures. This role will provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management to team members. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering.

Responsibilities:

Supervisory Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of engineers.
  • Assign and prioritize engineering tasks to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.

Technical Oversight and Guidance:

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain engineering procedures and documentation
  • Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and technical documents.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NRC, IEEE, ASME).
  • Resolve complex technical issues and provide engineering solutions.

Project Coordination and Management:

  • Coordinate engineering activities with other departments and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or delays.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical input.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in audits and inspections.

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure all engineering activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and complete engineering records.
  • Prepare and review technical reports and documentation.
  • Track and report on team performance and project progress.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering within the nuclear energy industry or a related highly regulated environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of NRC regulations, ASME codes, and other applicable standards.
  • Experience with engineering design, analysis, and calculations.
  • Experience with project management and coordination.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $150,000 - $173,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
