About the role:

As a Procurement Engineer at The Nuclear Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring that technical requirements from our engineering team are accurately translated into sourcing documents and supplier deliverables. You’ll help bridge the gap between design and supply chain by supporting the procurement of equipment, materials, and services that meet the safety, quality, and performance standards required in the nuclear industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the buildout of next-generation nuclear infrastructure in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Procurement Support: Translate engineering designs and specifications into procurement documentation, including datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid packages.
  • Supplier Engagement: Participate in supplier RFQs, technical clarifications, and bid evaluations to ensure technical alignment and compliance with project requirements.
  • Document Control & Review: Review vendor drawings and documentation for compliance with design specifications and applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, project management, and supply chain teams to support vendor selection, qualification, and performance tracking.
  • Compliance & Standards Alignment: Ensure all procurement engineering activities meet relevant regulatory, quality, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, NRC, NQA-1).

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related Engineering field required
  • 3–5 years of experience in procurement engineering, systems engineering, or technical supply chain roles in the energy, nuclear, aerospace, or heavy industrial sectors
  • Strong understanding of engineering documentation, specifications, and industry codes (e.g., ASME, IEEE, API)
  • Experience working with suppliers to review technical proposals and resolve documentation gaps or non-conformances
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $121,000 - $143,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
