About the role:

We are looking for a technically skilled and detail-oriented Senior Pre-Service Testing (PST) Engineer to lead and support the planning, execution, and documentation of pre-service testing activities for safety-related systems and components. This role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems perform as designed prior to plant startup or system turnover. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nuclear systems engineering, test planning, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Pre-Service Testing Program in accordance with ASME OM Code, NRC regulations, and plant licensing basis.
  • Plan and coordinate PST activities for new systems, plant modifications, and component replacements.
  • Establishment of baseline data for use in the In-Service Testing program
  • Development of all PST required testing and integration into the integrated project schedule
  • Ensure all inspections are performed by qualified personnel using qualified procedures
  • Prepare and review test procedures, acceptance criteria, and test configurations to verify design functionality and code compliance.
  • Interface with system engineers, operations, maintenance, and quality assurance to ensure test readiness and execution.
  • Analyze test results, identify deviations, and support resolution of non-conformances or performance issues.
  • Ensure all test documentation is complete, traceable, and meets regulatory and quality assurance requirements.
  • Support turnover of tested systems to operations and integration into surveillance or in-service testing programs.
  • Participate in audits, readiness reviews, and regulatory inspections related to PST scope.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or Systems Engineering.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in nuclear plant testing, startup, or systems engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME OM Code, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, and related NRC requirements.
  • Experience with test procedure development, system walkdowns, and test execution oversight.
  • Familiarity with safety-related systems, instrumentation, and control logic.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or experience in a licensed nuclear facility (preferred).

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $179,000 - $203,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
